Bali

We seem to be really taking advantage of our time in SE Asia, where long weekends and holidays abound. Ryan and the kids are off Monday and Tuesday for Chinese New Year. While I still have beautiful pictures to post of our weekend in Kota Kinabulu, we are now in Bali for 4 days. It's a rough life, I know. We picked up Brady from school on Friday and whisked the kids to the airport in their uniforms in an attempt to avoid the holiday traffic. We arrived in plenty of time and spent a few minutes chatting with their ISKL teachers - everyone had the same idea - 3 teachers were heading to Bali and another to Bangkok!

It was a long journey, 11:00 pm by the time we reached the hotel and midnight before we were checked in, showered and ready for bed. Saturday was a full day at the resort beach and pool.

I was planning on talking my 1st surf lesson yesterday, but the waves were no good. I'm going to go ahead and consider myself a surfer now, you know, searching for the perfect wave and all.

Instead of surfing on Sunday, we hired a driver and went shopping. 3 statutes, 2 garden pots and a mahogany table later (that hopefully get delivered to KL) we were headed to dinner at the trendy Potato Head Beach Club, or as mason called it "motato head". We had a lovely dinner at their Asian restaurant and watched the sunset. We dined on seafood and chicken. We were all raving about the atmosphere, what a fun time and good food. As with all good times, it usually ends with someone puking...Poor mason was up at 2:15 am, making a return. Ryan says "all it takes is one bad shrimp."

He has recovered and seems fine now. Slept good and ate a hearty breakfast. More beach and pool today. He even asked, "when can we go back to motato head?"
