Oma, Opa and Uncle Justin

Ryan's parents and his brother visited in March. We had a lot of fun and they stayed very busy sight-seeing (or in Justin's case - eating his way through) SE Asia. It's times like these I'm reminded why I don't scrap-book. I haven't posted any pictures from their trip or anything in almost a month and I'm already feeling overwhelmed. I'll try to keep it in order and detail where we were and what we did.

They had only been here a few days and we were off to Singapore.

Universal Studios

A favorite was Chinatown in Singapore. Good food and a lively atmosphere.

The boys were messing with that crab, then totally scared when the waitress held it out of the cage!

During the week, Ryan went to work and the kids went to school. Richard, JoNell and Justin quickly learned their way around KL and started exploring. The next weekend, the guys and our friend Tom went fishing.

The following week was Spring Break. We headed off to Bali, this time we stayed at a different resort. Our days were filled lounging by the pool and enjoying the atmosphere. Ryan, Justin and I took a surfing lesson. We don't have any pictures of that because, well - we were all surfing. It was fun and I definitely want to do it again. The 2 hour lesson tired us out and the waves are relentless. We enjoyed a cold Bintang on the ride back to the hotel.

Look at Justin - eyeing the food!
The boys loved the beach pool! Best of both, since Brady loves the beach and Mason loves the pool. Easy on us!

Back at Potato Head

It was actually a little bit cool. Poor Brady, he's a warm weather kid now!

After a few days in Bali, we had to say good-bye to Justin and we traveled north
to stay at a villa. We stopped at this temple for a walk around and break from the 4+ hour drive.

We were there during a hindu holiday. There were lots of processions to the temples everyday.

Yeah! We finally arrived at the villa - it was already dark.

The next morning, it was like stepping out and opening a present.

Active volcano - last erupted 1994. We could see a little steam coming up.
More people heading to the temple

The streets were decorated for the holiday

Hot spring pool - quite a lively place. For $12 it included a drink, towel and a bar of soap.

Local fishermen in front of the villa

Of course, our stay wasn't complete until somebody fell off the stepping stones and into the koi pond surrounding the villa. Mason is pointing to the spot where he fell, he said a spider with fangs scared him and he fell in. Poor thing was crying and shaken up and then announced, "it's not very deep." He and Brady had been wondering how deep it was - and Mason found out!

Mason likes shrimp!
