Niseko, Japan

Spring Break 2014
We spent spring break snow-skiing in Japan. What a fun time we had! We enjoyed some cooler weather and clean mountain air. Two other families from KL went skiing so we were able to hang out with them, too. It's always better with friends!

cool sign - it probably says "No Pictures Here"

The last run of the day. Mason and Brady are in this video. Brady skis off then Mason catches up at about 0:39.

Mason said he'd rather ski than go to the beach!

Japan was a great holiday! The weather was sunny and warm for our snow-skiing days. The people were really friendly and helpful even if no one knew what the other was saying. We enjoyed some great food and cold Japanese beer. We were all surprised with heated toilet seats everywhere. I was really pleased that Brady and Mason enjoyed skiing and we had a wonderful spring break.

Kota Kinabalu and Ryan's Birthday

I just realized I've fallen behind on the blog. We went to Kota Kinabalu on February 21st. It was also  Ryan's birthday weekend. This was our 3rd time to the island. We have to fly there because it's Eastern Malaysia (Borneo), but it's a domestic flight. It really is a lovely place, a beautiful resort with excellent restaurants, the rooms are fabulous and the fact that they serve champagne at breakfast is unheard of in Malaysia.

The boys loved the beach and pool, but we also played croquet and chess. There is also a small play area and Brady rode the zip-line until he gave himself a blister on his hand. All in the name of fun!

This is the place with the huge balcony with the outdoor tub and sitting area. I could stay forever!

Ryan is always on the hunt for the most beautiful sunsets!

The staff sang a beautiful and lively version of Happy Birthday to Ryan.

Who wants a hammock ride?

A night at the hibachi grill

Brady ate his entire meal with real chopsticks.

Apparently it's hard to smile when you have a mouthful of food.

A fond farewell!
I'm sure we'll go back at least one more time. Who wants to come with us?!
